-Please tell us how you introduced My Site Translation Premium.

Japanese alone is not enough to communicate. That's why we created English pages for our two existing brand sites ( Kiuchi Sake Brewery site and Hitachi-no-Nest Beer site ) from scratch, and had our in-house English-speaking employees translate the content. The challenge was to make it easier to automatically translate the English pages and to update them with a sense of speed.

Third Brand Site HINOMARU WHISKY We decided to introduce automatic translation because of the ease of converting pages created in Japanese into multiple languages and the speed with which new information can be updated.

-What was the deciding factor for you to introduce My Site Translation Premium?

We compared about three companies that offer automatic translation services, and the deciding factor for " My Site Translation Premium" was that we were able to try it out before installation, and the English translations we actually saw seemed natural.

I also had the impression that it would be possible to translate proper nouns by registering them in individual dictionaries.

I think the fact that we were able to actually try it out was a big factor.

-How did your customers react?

Although I don't have a tangible impression, the search results on Google Analytics and the translation frequency report for the previous month sent from Kodensha at the beginning of each month show an increase in access from English- and Chinese-speaking countries, so I think that people are using the automatic translation function to look at the site.

-We have already tested the linkage between My Site Translation and Google Analytics 4 (GA4) , so we hope it will be useful for future access analysis.

As for the reaction within the company after the introduction, what triggered the introduction of " My Site Translation Premium" was when the president saw " My Site Translation" installed on the Hitachi-Gyu website.

The president said, "There is an automatic translation service," and when he translated the site, the address was changed to " j-server.com," so people in the company recognized that the URL was a service that changed when the translation was done.

When we introduced "My Site Translation Premium," the URL remained the same even after translation, and some people said, "That's great.

The distillery tours are only for the domestic market, which started to open to the public in April 2022, but we plan to accommodate overseas visitors as needed due to inbound demand.

The languages we currently use are English, Chinese, and Korean, but we are considering increasing the number of languages depending on the customers who show up, and we think it would be interesting to expand from there.

-Do you have any advice for those who are considering using this service?

I believe that web pages are not left to be created, but rather evolve. Before we installed " My Site Translation Premium," we had created our own translated pages, but they broke down during operation and we gave up on them.
