―First of all, please tell us about the process of introducing automatic translation services in your company.
Dear Contact:
Well, the background to the introduction of automatic translation is a management strategy with a view to the global market. We also sell products made from traditional Japanese textiles, and especially due to the recent depreciation of the yen, we felt that we needed to strengthen language support as we aimed to expand sales with overseas customers in mind.

2. Challenges before introducing automatic translation services
―What were the difficulties you had before introducing the program?
Dear Contact:
The biggest challenge was that there were few staff who could speak English. It was difficult to smoothly handle inquiries from foreign customers and product explanations. In particular, the language barrier was a big obstacle because our products were a bit complicated to explain and there were many things we wanted to convey to our customers. It also took a lot of time and money to translate product pages and catalogs for international markets.
―In that respect, it was difficult to respond. Not being able to respond quickly to overseas markets is certainly a big challenge.
3. Many access from foreign countries! Results after service implementation
―I think this multilingual support has created new achievements and challenges, please tell us about that.
Dear Contact:
Since it has just been introduced, we have not yet achieved significant results, but I feel that it is a great achievement that we were able to discover that there is browsing in a foreign language immediately after the introduction. Specifically, I think access from Singapore and Taiwan will have a synergistic effect that leads to inbound purchases at physical stores. It was also surprising that there was access from Germany.
Immediately after the multilingualization, we received a series of inquiries from the United States, which led to sales through Buyee. We look forward to further sales in the future.

-What are your thoughts on future developments?
Dear Contact:
In the future, we would like to further strengthen our multilingual support. Currently, we support English and Chinese, but we would like to add other languages to bring our products to more countries. We also want to expand our marketing activities using SNS and online shops to increase contact with overseas customers. Our goal is to create an environment that is more accessible to foreign tourists even in real stores.
